Our Olympic campus was buzzing with activity as we welcomed volunteers, friends and NatureBridge board members for a spring clean-up day earlier this month. Friends and community members joined our campus educators the following day for Elwha Exploration Day, an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of NatureBridge students discovering the Elwha River’s history and engaging in hands-on science activities exploring the river’s ongoing restoration.
Anne Baxter’s connection to NatureBridge spans over 30 years, though her connection to nature extends well beyond that. Anne came to California from the east coast and fell in love with the majestic Sierra Nevada, where she could be found backpacking, birding and fly fishing. That love for the mountains led her to take her 5th and 6th grade students to Yosemite each year. Those trips to Yosemite often created a connection with the natural world for these students that would last a lifetime.
NatureBridge is thrilled to announce Dr. Sylvia Earle as our guest speaker at An Evening Outside with NatureBridge, our annual fundraising event on May 11, 2023. This event will be held on our campus at Golden Gate Recreational Area where we will spend an unforgettable evening celebrating the stewards of today!
On April 5, 2023, our NatureBridge team at Olympic was honored to host U.S. Senator Patty Murray on our campus. Senator Murray and her team joined us for an afternoon, learning about NatureBridge’s mission to connect young people to the wonder and science of the natural world.
As we approach our event “An Evening Outside with NatureBridge” on May 11, we would like to recognize the runners-up for our annual Student of the Year Award!
At NatureBridge, we celebrate the stewards of today and foster the development of the stewards of tomorrow, working to inspire environmental stewardship in all our participants. Our goal is to motivate our students to be changemakers in their communities and for our planet.
Each year, NatureBridge honors a student who has demonstrated leadership, growth and a commitment to protecting our natural world as a result of their participation in a NatureBridge program. This year’s honoree will be recognized and will speak at An Evening Outside with NatureBridge on Thursday, May 11 at our Golden Gate campus.
