Each year, NatureBridge recognizes a student who has demonstrated exceptional personal growth as a result of their experience with NatureBridge.
 

Do you know a young person whose time at NatureBridge sparked meaningful transformation? Or maybe you are that student whose connection with nature, leadership, or self-confidence was forever shaped by the experience? Apply today!

Nominations are welcome from teachers, students, parents, and NatureBridge staff. Applications will be reviewed until March 6, 2026!

The Student of the Year will receive: #

  • An all-expenses-paid trip to San Francisco, CA for the student and one guardian, including VIP seats at An Evening with NatureBridge, our annual national fundraiser on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
     
  • A $1,000 scholarship to be applied toward their school’s next environmental science program at any NatureBridge campus.
     
  • Recognition across NatureBridge’s website and social media platforms, celebrating their story and inspiring others.

What are the application requirements? #

  • The student must have participated in a NatureBridge program within the past five years.
     
  • The selected student and one parent or guardian are required to attend An Evening with NatureBridge in San Francisco on May 7, 2026.
     
  • The student must feel comfortable speaking in front of a large audience of approximately 400 guests and be able to clearly express how NatureBridge shaped their experience. NatureBridge’s team will support the student with speech writing and coaching.
     
  • The student must be available for at least two virtual meetings in March and April with our team to prepare for their speech.
     
  • The student should be able to demonstrate how their NatureBridge experience had a meaningful impact on their life. This could include:
     
    • Gaining confidence or comfort in the outdoors
    • Developing a deeper understanding of science
    • Building stronger peer relationships
    • Discovering a future academic or career path in environmental fields

What makes a good application? #

We want to know how NatureBridge impacted the nominee's life. How and why did they change? What do they do differently? Why was the experience so powerful? Did they share what they learned with others? How?
