We had a wonderful time connecting with local educators at our recent Teacher Open House in Bellevue, WA! Hosted by NatureBridge at The Studio in Lincoln Square, the evening brought together 45 passionate teachers, educators, and board and community members to learn how they can bring their students on an unforgettable outdoor science adventure in Olympic National Park.
For Ian Yolles, outdoor education has been a lifelong passion, a guiding force, and a commitment to ensuring that young people have access to the transformative power of nature. His journey, from a young canoe trip leader in Canada to his 12-year tenure as a NatureBridge board member and chair, is a testament to how immersive experiences in the outdoors can shape both individuals and organizations.
Subiksha Shri participated in a NatureBridge program with her classmates from Lawson Middle School at our Yosemite campus in January 2025. A passionate hiker, dancer, and devoted steward of the natural world from Cupertino, CA, Subiksha Shri is a shining example of how transformative experiences in nature can shape young minds and hearts.
Our Teacher Open House on March 20, hosted by NatureBridge and our friends at Parks Project at the Parks Project Discovery Center, was a wonderful opportunity to connect with passionate educators and share the transformative power of outdoor education.

They collectively bring a wealth of experience leading multi-day backpacking trips and wilderness adventures, demonstrate a sincere commitment to building community, and fully grasp how special the Armstrong Scholars program truly is.
On Thursday, February 27, the Field Arts and Events Hall in Port Angeles, WA became a gateway to the hidden worlds of forests. Hosted by National Geographic Live, From Roots to Canopy brought together science, storytelling, and inspiration, featuring renowned tree canopy ecologist and National Geographic Explorer Nalini Nadkarni.
