Los Angeles Teacher Night Recap: Inspiring Educators to Bring Learning Outdoors

The event provided a dynamic space for teachers to network, explore the Discovery Center, and engage in hands-on learning. Attendees enjoyed refreshments provided by Parks Project while connecting with fellow educators who share a commitment to experiential learning and environmental education. Many teachers participated in our interactive skins and skulls station and a Leave No Trace activity, experiencing firsthand the kind of inquiry-based, field science activities that make NatureBridge programs so impactful for students.  

The highlight of the evening was our presentation on how NatureBridge’s immersive environmental science programs help students develop a sense of place, build teamwork and leadership skills, and apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings. We discussed how these programs align with educational standards while providing young people with transformative experiences in one of the most iconic national parks in the country. Educators had the opportunity to ask questions about trip logistics, funding support, and how to best prepare students for a successful outdoor learning adventure.  

Beyond the wealth of information shared, attendees also enjoyed swag items, raffle prizes, and a shared sense of excitement about the possibilities of bringing their students outside for hands-on learning. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and look forward to helping even more students experience the wonder of Yosemite through NatureBridge’s outdoor science programs.
