October 2026 National Board Meeting in Yosemite

We’re excited to come together in person this October for our National Board Meeting on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.

The gathering will include additional events and opportunities to connect from Thursday, October 22 through Saturday, October 24, including program observation experiences and a tour of the NESC. For those arriving early, we’ll also host an informal dinner on the evening of Wednesday, October 21.

We warmly welcome families to join us and hope you’ll take advantage of this special opportunity to connect, collaborate, and enjoy time together in one of the world’s greatest living classrooms.

The closest major airport to Tenaya at Yosemite is Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT). It is located approximately 62 miles south of the lodge and offers an easy, straightforward 1.5-hour drive up CA-41 directly to the resort.

Schedule of Events (updated 8/31/26)*

Thursday, October 22 - Optional Morning Program Observation & Evening Gathering #

Yosemite National Park, CA

7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. PT: Morning Program Observation* (Optional)

  • 7:00am - Shuttle departure from Tenaya Lodge

  • 8:15am - Arrival at Curry Village

  • 3:45pm - Shuttle departure for Tenaya

  • 5:00pm - Arrive at Tenaya

*To experience the program alongside our students, board members will be divided among the student trail groups, with one adult guest joining each group. Each group will participate in a challenge hike ranging from approximately 3–6 miles, depending on the trail and student group. Please note that this particular activity is for adults only, so children traveling with you will not be able to participate. Come prepared for an active day on the trail and a firsthand look at the NatureBridge experience!

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. PT: Evening Gathering (Optional)

  • Dinner at Tenaya Lodge

  • 8:00pm - Astronomy Hike with NatureBridge staff; Firepit & s’mores

Friday, October 23 - National Board Meeting, NESC Tour & Dinner #

  • 8:00-9:00am - Full breakfast service 
  • 8:15-9:00am - Executive session
  • 9:00am-2pm - Meeting (lunch provided)
  • 2:30pm Depart Tenaya Lodge for NESC on private shuttle
  • 3:10pm Arrive at NESC
  • 3:15-3:45pm Tour & afternoon snack
  • 4:00-4:30pm Steve King & Sam Boren recognition
  • 5:00pm Private shuttles depart NESC for Tenaya Lodge
  • 5:30pm Return to Tenaya Lodge
  • 6:30-8:30pm Private cocktails & dinner at Tenaya Lodge

Saturday, October 24 - Mariposa Grove Hike #

Yosemite, CA

  • 8:15am - Leave Tenaya Lodge (private shuttle service NOT provided)
  • 8:30am - Arrive at Mariposa Grove for NatureBridge-led hike
  • 11:15am - Return to parking lot & program ends

IMPORTANT NOTE ON HOTEL RESERVATIONS:

  • SEPT 19: Last day to cancel without incurring charge for one night’s stay
  • AFTER SEPT 19: NatureBridge will also be held financially responsible for any second and third night charges if you decide to cancel.

  1. Yosemite Lodging at Big Creek Inn
    One of the very closest options — a quiet bed-and-breakfast style stay just minutes from Tenaya Lodge and the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. Known for a cozy, personalized atmosphere. 
  2. Narrow Gauge Inn
    A classic mountain lodge with rustic Yosemite character, located about 1–2 miles from Tenaya Lodge along Highway 41. Convenient for groups and families. 
  3. Tin Lizzie Inn
    A more upscale boutique B&B experience with Victorian-style rooms and a quieter, intimate setting near Fish Camp. 
  4. Little Ahwahnee Inn Yosemite
    A luxury-style mountain inn/vacation rental option about 2 miles from Yosemite’s south entrance, good for small groups or extended family stays.
