What You Will Do:

The Kitchen Assistant works on the Kitchen Team to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Food Service Department. This is primarily a dishwashing and custodial position in the kitchen. Secondary duties related to food preparation and service as assigned. The shift is Monday-Thursday, 11:30 am-8:00 pm, with the potential for additional hours on Friday, as available.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, pots and pans.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining room cabinets. 
  • Keep all refrigerators clean with dates and labels on all items.
  • Maintain and clean the Kitchen and Equipment.
  • Receive and stock deliveries of food and supplies.
  • Help to set up the buffet.
  • Help cooks in the preparation of meals.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compensation:

  • $17/hour
  • Full benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid vacation, training days, and sick leave.

  • Interest in and ability to support the preparation of meals
  • Promptness and a positive attitude.  
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Able to work well with other staff.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and time limits.
  • Food service experience preferred.
