Susan Boren first experienced the power of nature as a Girl Scout in the 1950s. She loved going camping, and Girl Scouting was one of the few opportunities that she had to spend time in nature as a young person. As a parent, Susan shared her love of nature with her children as they explored the natural world, from the Minnesota Boundary Waters to the Arctic Circle to eastern Africa.

A strong believer in the unique impact of a national park experience, Susan is committed to helping NatureBridge reach more children with the opportunity to experience hands-on learning in national parks.

Nature builds confidence in young people, particularly urban children. When they spend a week in nature, it gives them so much confidence and builds respect for the environment.
