Dan Abrams grew up playing in the woods, climbing trees and hiking trails in the northern suburbs of New York City. These experiences established in him a lifelong love of nature.
His 20-year career as a film producer and entrepreneur includes feature films, documentary films and website development. After earning a Master's degree from New York University, Dan joined early internet development company KPE, where he produced websites for the Clinton/Gore '96 campaign, Daily Variety, and Monday Night Football.
His film career includes producing "Knots" in 2003, starring John Stamos, Scott Cohen and Annabeth Gish, and "Kill Theory" in 2006, directed by Chris Moore. More recently, he helped produce "The People Speak," a documentary based on the writings of the historian Howard Zinn.
Dan joined the Santa Monica Mountains Board in 2009 and later joined the national NatureBridge Board in 2010. Dan hopes to help more kids from all walks of life make life-changing connections with nature. He is a longtime supporter of numerous other environmental organizations, including as a member of the Natural Resource Defense Council President's Circle, Heal The Bay, National Parks Conservation Association and the Rainforest Action Network.
Dan lives, works, and plays in Venice, California with his wife Katrina and son Ezra.
