The Site Manager is the main contact and decision-maker for all overnight Environmental Science participants while on campus. They provide on-site leadership for the overnight aspects of the Environmental Science programs including meals, lodging, orientation and conflict resolution. They develop and maintain positive relationships with program participants and campus operations staff. They possess thoughtful decision-making abilities while ensuring a welcoming and safe environment.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities #

  • Serves as primary on-site contact for Environmental Science participants 
  • Greets and orients participants to NatureBridge campus
  • Primary decision maker on campus during non-field time
  • Works closely with kitchen and facilities staff, Environmental Science operations and educational staff to ensure quality programming 
  • Submits complete and accurate paperwork including participant feedback on time
  • Establishes and maintains respectful, supportive and compassionate relationships with staff, volunteers and participants
  • Mediates conflicts involving participants, staff, and Park visitors
  • Coordinates emergency responses involving program participants
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Manage an audience of up to 200 people

Working Conditions

The Site Manager works a split shift, Monday afternoon through Friday morning, and is often required to work more than 8 hours each day of their shift. The Site Manager is on-call overnight and can be called in by participants as needed.

Compensation

  • Site managers (non-exempt) are paid $16.10 per hour 
  • Daily and weekly work hours vary
  • Paid training days and sick pay
  • Full-time hires can elect to receive a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental and vision, retirement
  • Full-time hires accrue vacation based on tenure
  • Housing may be provided as a benefit of employment. By providing housing, NatureBridge can ensure that educators are available and accessible to provide support for program participants in emergency situations and that educators can work odd hours and split shifts required during typical programs.
