Facilities Support

Facilities Support is a member of the facilities and food service departments. The majority of the workload of this position will be maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the NatureBridge facilities and supporting the department by helping with projects. This position will also support food service on an as needed basis.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities #

  • With little to no supervision performs daily cleaning and sanitizing of campus facilities.
  • With limited supervision performs projects assigned by the Facilities Team Leader.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and notifies the Facilities Team Leader when products need to be ordered.
  • Performs cyclic cleaning such as window and carpet cleaning.
  • Performs vehicle cleaning, lawn care, painting and grounds maintenance.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
  • Supports food service in special events, performs duties of the Lunchroom Coordinator in their absence and helps with the run as needed.
  • Performs physical tasks such as moving equipment, supplies and furniture.
  • Establishes and maintains respectful, supportive and compassionate relationships with staff, volunteers and participants.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience, Competencies and Education #

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Individual must be able to work well with other Yosemite NatureBridge staff, National Park Service employees, program participants and visiting public.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fun fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude. 
  • Promptness and ability to work independently are imperative.
  • A flexible, positive attitude, excellent judgment and safety consciousness are some of the key qualities needed for this position. 
  • Current driver’s license and clear driving record required.
  • Must have ability to work weekends and flexible hours.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands #

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions on facility grounds. The noise level in the work environment and facility grounds can be loud.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee will use culinary tools and equipment along with major kitchen appliances. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
