We are proud to announce a $50,000 award from the California Coastal Commission’s WHALE TAIL® Grants Program to support the reconstruction of our Intertidal Lab tank at our Golden Gate campus and provide scholarship support for young people who face barriers to explore and engage with Pacific coastal marine life in a safe and supportive environment.

With support from the WHALE TAIL® Grant, thousands of students will learn about the coastal and marine environment, inspiring a lifelong love for the natural world and a desire to preserve it.

WHALE TAIL® grants support experiential education and stewardship of the California coast and its watersheds. This program is supported by sales of the WHALE TAIL® Coastal Protection License Plate and donations to the Protect Our Coast and Oceans Fund listed on the California state tax form.
