Sausalito, CA — March 2024 — In a groundbreaking initiative that will infuse its leadership with new ideas and perspectives, NatureBridge, the overnight outdoor education nonprofit dedicated to connecting young minds with the wonders of the natural world and largest education partner of the National Park Service, is thrilled to announce the addition of eight visionary leaders to its national Board of Directors. This marks a significant milestone in NatureBridge's history, as it opened its doors to an inclusive and transparent selection process, seeking individuals who embody the spirit of environmental stewardship and educational excellence.

Joining the board are Andrea Abegglen, Michelle Bonner Techel, Glynnis Breen, Krista Campbell, Daniel Cummings, Geoff Given, Garrett Kephart, and Penelope Lie, each bringing a unique blend of enthusiasm, expertise, and commitment to further NatureBridge's mission. This initiative was spearheaded by a comprehensive search, facilitated by the Potrero Group, aimed at broadening the organization's horizons and deepening its commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity.

"Our new board members represent the very essence of what we stand for at NatureBridge: a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of education in nature," stated Susan Boren, NatureBridge National Board Chair. "Their diverse backgrounds and shared energy for the environment will undoubtedly propel us forward in our mission to inspire a new generation of environmental stewards."

NatureBridge’s strategic direction, financial health, and strong governance will continue to be the board’s priorities, as we expand the board’s perspectives and experiences. The organization is poised to enhance its impact, reaching more students and teachers across the nation with its life-changing outdoor science programs.
