Meet our

Special Guests

Rozlyn
Rozlyn Currie

Rozlyn is a 5th grade student at Crescent School District in Joyce, Washington, located 15 miles west of Port Angeles. She has always loved hiking and being outdoors, and had so much fun on her 3-day NatureBridge trip in Olympic National Park with her 4th grade class last year. She especially enjoyed learning more about our local forests and wildlife.

MacKenzie Maxwell

MacKenzie has a passion for getting folks excited about learning. She has taught in many different places including recycling facilities, National Forests, nature centers, NatureBridge itself, and now finds herself in a 4th grade classroom just outside of Olympic National Park. Although she had to go into the classroom, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take her students outside for a life-changing NatureBridge program. Learning comes in many forms and she appreciates what NatureBridge offers for students that can’t be offered in the classroom: turning over rocks to do science, taking care of your classmate’s meals, and getting out of your routine (and into a bunk bed).

Ben
Ben Steele

The evening's emcee, Ben Steele, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at REI. Growing up in southwest Idaho, Ben always had nature present in his life. As he grew older, Ben began to appreciate the connection he’d always felt and became increasingly aware of the barriers to outdoor spaces that many kids experience.  Ben hopes to allow more kids to experience the incredible health, mental, and societal benefits that nature has to offer, regardless of their income or geographic location. He resides in Seattle, Washington.
