NatureBridge invites you to join us for a special Campfire Chat on Wednesday, June 2 at 6 p.m. PST, where we will hear from two leaders who are central to the remarkable story of the Elwha River restoration.
Explore the inspirational story of the Elwha River and the largest dam removal project in the country from the perspective of Chairwoman Frances Charles of the Tribal Council of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, and former Senator Bill Bradley who helped broker and initiate the Elwha River Fisheries and Ecosystem Restoration Act of 1992. Moderated by Lynda Mapes, environmental journalist for the Seattle Times.
We will celebrate the joy and magnitude of this accomplishment. The story many of us hear about the dam removal is the resurgence of the salmon populations; we’d argue that the most important outcome has been the restoration of hope.
This free virtual event is part of NatureBridge's 50th anniversary celebrations.
