Join us online for our second Campfire Chat and discover the social, emotional and physical benefits of spending time outside—proven by medicine and witnessed in the field! NatureBridge President & CEO Phil Kilbridge will be joined by Dr. Nooshin Razani, founder and director of the Center for Nature and Health at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and Cicely Muldoon, Superintendent of Yosemite National Park. Together, we'll explore the multifaceted benefits of the outdoors, access to nature as a health equity issue and the state of our public lands as we continue to fight COVID-19.

A firm believer that nature is human right, pediatrician and researcher Dr. Nooshin Razani has dedicated her career to connecting children to nature. The founder and director of the Center for Nature and Health, based at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, Dr. Razani is a passionate advocate of the healing power of nature—particularly for those who do not have access to green spaces.
The Center for Nature and Health is the very first nature-based clinic in the U.S. that’s connected to a major health provider. The team conducts original nature research, offers clinical care outdoors and provides resources for other health care practitioners to bring nature into their practices. For nearly six years, Dr. Razani has been prescribing time in nature to not just her patients, but their parents as well—a slowly growing practice in the field that has seen incredible results. This prescription, made possible in collaboration with a number of community partners and parks, includes a monthly nature shuttle enrollment. Currently, Dr. Razani is leading a team of clinicians conducting a randomized clinical trial to examine how to operationalize a park prescription program in a low-income setting.
Dr. Razani is an attending physician at UCSF Beniofff Oakland’s Ambulatory Department and Assistant Clinical Scientist at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI). She attended medical school at UCSF, completed a pediatric residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and has a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Cicely Muldoon has been Acting Superintendent of Yosemite National Park since January 2020; her permanent job is Superintendent of Point Reyes National Seashore. Cicely is a 34-year veteran of the National Park Service and has worked in national parks across the country, from Alaska to Arkansas and from Washington State to Washington, D.C. Cicely arrived in the park with firsthand understanding of Yosemite National Park operations, having served two times as the park’s acting deputy superintendent.
Prior to her position at Point Reyes, Cicely was a deputy regional director, overseeing partnerships, law enforcement, fire management, interpretation and safety in national park units in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. She has also served as acting superintendent of Golden Gate National Recreation Area and superintendent of Pinnacles National Park in California and San Juan Island National Historical Park in the state of Washington.
Cicely is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.
