Development Assistant

The Development Assistant is a full-time, non-exempt position that supports NatureBridge’s Development Department. This position will primarily assist in data entry, gift processing and donor acknowledgements. The Development Assistant’s attention to detail and organizational skills are integral to the department’s ability to build and steward relationships with our donors and maintain accurate donor and financial information. This is an entry-level position and does not have supervisory or budget responsibilities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities #

Gift Administration & Donor Acknowledgement

  • Assist in gift processing, including pledges, stocks and bequests
  • Assist in gift documentation filing in a timely manner 
  • Support Development Associate in preparing, reviewing and sending tax acknowledgement letters
  • Notify staff of incoming donations
  • Assist in the execution and update of weekly gift log
  • Support donor stewardship projects including: updating acknowledgement letters, assisting in the creation of new templates and ensuring accuracy of information

Database Administration

  • Create and maintain donor records in the donor database
  • Assist Development Operations Manager with routine data analysis to ensure accuracy of data
  • Assist Development Operations Manager with database imports 
  • Support regional Development Managers with assigned data entry and actions based on the moves management donor system

Development Support

  • Assist Development Associate and Finance Department with processing incoming mail
  • Support donor appeals plan and mailings
  • Assist NatureBridge leadership and Development Department with preparation and mailing of packages
  • Assistance with payment processing 
  • Assist in review of various donor listings, reports and mailings for accuracy
  • General administrative support in the weeks leading up to major events
  • Administrative responsibilities and other related job duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong judgment and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
  • Ability to work events and/or weekends as needed
  • Previous data entry, database, or Raiser’s Edge experience a plus
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain strict donor confidentiality

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Compensation #
