Sharon did not grow up in a family that cherished the outdoors and believes she would have been a perfect candidate for a program such as NatureBridge.

Today, she cannot imagine a life without being in nature everyday…particularly living in the Pacific Northwest, with such an abundant variety of parks, mountains, trails, lakes, and ocean.

Sharon’s religion is friends, family, and nature. Her passions include hiking, downhill skiing, and kayaking/paddleboarding. She feels strongly that exposure and access to nature and natural science can be transformative and making NatureBridge’s program accessible to a diversity of students is critical.

Sharon is recently retired from a career in architecture, design, and construction, and real estate development. She worked for Vulcan Real Estate in Seattle for 20 years and oversaw the development of over 6 million square feet of office, retail, and life science projects. She hopes to provide her experience to help on the future phases of the National Environmental Science Center.
