Summers canoe trips spent paddling through the northern Canadian boreal forest informed Ian’s worldview and appreciation for the natural world, shaping the arc of his life and the decisions he makes today.
As a wilderness instructor with Outward Bound, Ian witnessed the power of nature firsthand. Ian believes that creating opportunities for young people to experience and learn from nature is essential to ensure the health of our planet and the health of humanity. He recognizes more strongly than ever how important it is to provide our young people with outdoor experiences to increase their knowledge and grow their character.
Ian’s background includes extensive brand building and marketing work for companies like The Body Shop, Patagonia, Nike and Nau. He currently serves as a board member, advisor and thought partner for a select group of early stage ventures and companies in the outdoor industry.
