WildLink is a partnership between the National Park Service and NatureBridge with the goal of expanding access and opportunity in our public lands. We invite students from communities who have had historic and systemic barriers to accessing the outdoors to explore the Yosemite Wilderness and the career opportunities offered here. Through wilderness expeditions, volunteer stewardship projects, leadership trainings, family weekends and career development opportunities, WildLink empowers young people to strengthen themselves and their communities.
WildLink programming aims to build students’ relationships to the natural world, create a sense of belonging in Wilderness and forge connections between young people and local communities. The WildLink experience begins with a six day immersive experience in Yosemite National Park that includes a four-day backpacking trip into Wilderness. Participants organize stewardship projects with their peers and communities in order to help spread care for the enduring resource of Wilderness.
Since 2000, WildLink has invited young people to the Sierra Nevada Wilderness, and demonstrated the relevance and benefits of the outdoors and public lands for all.
