NatureBridge Story
In 1971, our mission to connect young people to the wonder and science of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of our planet, was born in Yosemite National Park. In the decades since, NatureBridge has connected more than 1.5 million participants to our national parks.

Student of the Year
Each year, we honor a NatureBridge alum who experienced profound growth as a result of a NatureBridge program. Do you know a student who was particularly impacted by their NatureBridge experience? Are you that student?
Award & Benefits #
The Student of the Year will receive:
- An all-expenses-paid trip to Sausalito for the Student of the Year and two guardians
- Up to three seats at An Evening Outside with NatureBridge on May 16, 2024
- $1,000 to go towards your school's next trip to NatureBridge
- NatureBridge swag and outdoor gear for your next adventure
- Recognition on the NatureBridge website, newsletter and social media channels
- A leadership opportunity to include on any college admissions or job applications
Requirements #
- A completed application
- Student must be able to attend An Evening Outside with NatureBridge in May
- Brief video of nominee talking about their NatureBridge experience
Great applications demonstrate how NatureBridge impacted the nominee's life. How and why did they change? What do they do differently? Why was the experience so powerful?
Applications are accepted throughout the year. The winner is announced in March.
