The National Environmental Science Center #

The dining lodge at the National Environmental Science Center is a cozy space to gather year around!
The National Environmental Science Center (NESC) is located within Yosemite National Park on HWY 41 near the community of Yosemite West. The site is about 15 miles from Yosemite Valley (usually 35-45 minutes by car or bus).
Students snowshoe through a wintery Sierra Nevada landscape.
The NESC is at an elevation of 6,200 feet. Because of the altitude and surrounding trees, it is about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than Yosemite Valley. You can expect cold nights year-round and snow cover throughout the winter season.
Bunkhouse interior
The bunkhouses are equipped with bunk beds and can be divided into four sections to accommodate groups of various sizes with various gender breakdowns. Facilities bay be shared with other NatureBridge Groups. No linens are provided. Be sure to pack the following: sleeping bag, pillow, towel, personal toiletries and a fitted sheet (twin size).

The NESC bunkhouses each have balconies looking out across the forested landscape.
Opportunities abound to adventure off trail, make discoveries, and explore the Sierra Nevada ecosystems that surround the National Environmental Science Center.
