San Francisco, CA – NatureBridge, the leading overnight outdoor education nonprofit and partner of the National Park Service, is proud to announce its recent accreditation by Cognia, a global network of educators dedicated to improving educational opportunities for all learners. This accreditation is the culmination of 18 months of student, program and organizational assessments and marks a significant achievement in NatureBridge's commitment to providing high-quality, impactful educational experiences in some of the nation's most breathtaking national parks.
In a groundbreaking initiative that will infuse its leadership with new ideas and perspectives, NatureBridge, the overnight outdoor education nonprofit dedicated to connecting young minds with the wonders of the natural world and largest education partner of the National Park Service, is thrilled to announce the addition of eight visionary leaders to its national Board of Directors.
We are proud to announce a $50,000 award from the California Coastal Commission’s WHALE TAIL® Grants Program to support the reconstruction of our Intertidal Lab tank and provide scholarship support for young people who face barriers to explore and engage with Pacific coastal marine life in a safe and supportive environment.
NatureBridge, a leading environmental education organization and the National Park Service’s largest education provider, is pleased to announce a significant grant from the Department of Energy and the Environment (DOEE) to support overnight outdoor schools and Nature Near School programs in the Washington, DC area.
Washington's Outdoor Education for All Act has broadened opportunities for students by increasing access to NatureBridge programs on the Olympic Peninsula and more than 30 other similar outdoor schools across the state.
This fall, NatureBridge's Prince William Forest campus welcomed over 325 students from six Prince William County Schools. Students conducted hands-on field science experiments, developed important social and emotional skills working with their peers, engaged in personal reflection and stayed overnight in NatureBridge’s historic cabins.

The National Park Trust, in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS), announced recently $375,1000 to fund 18 education and outdoor recreation projects through the 2023 NPS Challenge Cost Share Program. Each project connects a local community to a nearby national park, national trail, or wild and scenic river. This year’s group of awardees will engage more than 8,600 participants in active, healthy outdoor recreation and in education initiatives that increase knowledge about our nation’s natural and cultural heritage.
NatureBridge is thrilled to announce Dr. Sylvia Earle as our guest speaker at An Evening Outside with NatureBridge, our annual fundraising event on May 11, 2023. This event will be held on our campus at Golden Gate Recreational Area where we will spend an unforgettable evening celebrating the stewards of today!
On April 5, 2023, our NatureBridge team at Olympic was honored to host U.S. Senator Patty Murray on our campus. Senator Murray and her team joined us for an afternoon learning about NatureBridge’s mission to connect young people to the wonder and science of the natural world.
