David Placek founded Lexicon Branding in 1981 on the single insight that the development of new brands would become increasingly important and challenging for companies around the world. In the past 27 years, he has been involved in over 2,300 branding programs in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Lexicon Branding specializes in positioning, brand names, and brand language.

Trademarks developed by Lexicon include RIM's Blackberry® and Blackberry Curve®, Intel's Pentium® and Centrino®, Apple's PowerBook®, Nissan's Rogue®, Honda's Ridgeline®, Subaru's Outback® and Forester®, Toyota's Scion®, GM's OnStar®, Coca-Cola's Dasani®, Nestle/Dreyer's Dibs®, KPMG?s BearingPoint®, and P&G's Swiffer® and Febreze®.
