The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operational integrity of NatureBridge environmental science programs in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and ensures smooth program logistics and communication with school groups.

The Senior Operations Manager leads the Environmental Science Operations Team, which is an integral part of all NatureBridge programs at our Golden Gate campus. The Team provides exceptional customer service for all Environmental Science guests. It does so by accurately and efficiently managing logistics for all groups attending programs, ensuring a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for guests while on site, and coordinating closely with other campus departments including Education, Facilities and Food Service to ensure a seamless customer experience. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the Environmental Science Operations Team including hiring, training and supervising one Operations Manager.
  • Ensure successful program logistics and communication with school groups.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate program implementation by refining, developing, communicating and supporting data systems.
  • Manage staff logistics for Environmental Science programs, ensuring that they are accurate, fair and meet the needs of programs and staff.
  • Manage campus resources - dorms, meal times, Eco-Athletics, Evening Programs, etc.
  • Manage scheduling of shared resources in the Park with Park Partners, including the Pt. Bonita Lighthouse and the Marine Mammal Center.
  • Ensure that medical and dietary information is received from Environmental Science groups, communicate and coordinate any necessary special arrangements with staff.
  • Arrange bus transportation for Environmental Science off-campus trips.
  • Manage regular reporting of information on staff schedules and shared resources to other campus departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Create a welcoming and safe environment that is responsive to the needs of guests.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager to support all staff and guests.
  • Respond as needed to the campus urgent response system on weekends and evenings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2-6 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Excellent organizational, task and time-management skills
  • Must be detail- and solution-oriented
  • Demonstrated office experience, managing and communicating information quickly and accurately
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred) and Google online tools is highly desirable, on the job training will be provided as well
  • Internet and e-mail experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
